If there’s one thing we’ve learned over the years, it’s that kindness doesn’t always come with fanfare – sometimes, it turns up quietly, consistently, and with a trunk full of toiletries.
For more than seven years, the Kiwanis Club of Glenelg has been supporting Treasure Boxes with quarterly donations to purchase hygiene products for families in crisis. That’s seven years of toothbrushes, shampoo, baby wipes, deodorant and dignity – all thanks to the generous hearts of a group that doesn’t just care but keeps caring.
At the heart of it all is Bob Sitters, a long-time Treasure Boxes volunteer and the District Chair of Kiwanis Children’s Fund Australia. Through his commitment (and probably some very persuasive conversations at club meetings), Kiwanis Club of Glenelg has become one of our most reliable supporters – the kind you know you can count on when emergency strikes or shelves run bare.
It might not sound glamorous, but having clean hair, fresh breath, and nappies for your baby when you’ve lost everything is life changing. Hygiene equals health. It equals confidence. It equals hope. And thanks to Kiwanis, we’ve been able to meet this need without fear of falling short – time and time again.
To the Kiwanis Club of Glenelg members and to Bob: thank you for showing up, not just once, but again and again. Your steady support reminds us that small things – packed with love – can make a mighty difference. You’re the clean hands and full hearts behind every hygiene pack we deliver.
