COVID-19 Update 24/3/20

Treasure Boxes is committed to the health and safety of our community.

Our management team is closely monitoring advice from both the State and Federal Government. We are updating our policies and procedures regarding the pandemic on a daily basis.

Until we are advised otherwise, Treasure Boxes will remain open to volunteers and support agencies. While South Australia slowly locks down, our service will become more crucial than ever before to support our most vulnerable communities.

During the current COVID-19 pandemic, families and children are still experiencing poverty, and at-risk mothers are still giving birth. There will now be more families and children needing assistance after being affected by the loss of stable income. We’re here to reduce the financial hardship we know is coming for families, reduce the risk factors that lead to severe poverty and homelessness, and help put life back together.

We are doing everything we can to ensure our volunteers are safe, including:

–          All volunteers in at-risk groups have been encouraged to stay home;

–          All volunteers that are able to work from home are encouraged to do so;

–          Enforced strict hygiene measures;

–          Members of the public cannot access the main warehouse or office.

We have space in our Edwardstown warehouse to safely accommodate volunteers, with the warehouse laid out in a way that means we can work on individual tasks without being in close proximity to each other.

If you have any questions or concerns, please send us an email.

We’ll see you all soon,
The Treasure Boxes team.
