Psst… Christmas is only 7 weeks away!
For many reasons 2020 has been hard for many South Australian families. Especially those who were already disadvantaged—battling severe poverty and homelessness. Add more heartache from stress-related domestic violence causing women and children to flee with just the clothes on their back, and things are starting to look bleak for many families this Christmas.
This year we have supported over 1,200 South Australian newborns, children and teenagers with the basics they need to survive and thrive. But we’re expecting hundreds more needing our support in the next 7 weeks.
With your support, we want to ensure we can continue to provide everything our vulnerable families need in the days and weeks after Christmas is long gone.
Here are 5 easy ways your family, friends and workplace can help.
1. Donate $5 for 500
For just $5 a week over the course of a year, you will help provide an entire nursery set for a newborn baby.
2. Get your workplace involved
Run a fundraiser at work—you’ll boost team morale by doing something fun and help a good cause at the same time!

Christmas dress-up day: wear your favourite holiday season shirt, or all dress up as Santa!
Office bake-off: get into the Christmas spirit and share your favourite holiday treats.
Staff holiday party: with Treasure Boxes as your charity partner.

3. Volunteer
With the increased demand on our service over the holidays, along with a bunch of fun events, we’ll need as many hands on deck as possible!
Get your friends, family and workplace involved (children are very welcome!) and volunteer with us in Edwardstown, or at one of our many events. You can commit as much, or as little, time as you want!
4. Donate
Donate what you would normally spend on a present to Treasure Boxes.
5. Reverse advent calendar
Grab a box and collect an item for each day of the month. At the end of the month, bring it to us, and congratulations—you’ve packed a treasure box! We’ve created a simple checklist to make it easy for you.
