Overwhelmed with kindness: donations paused for March 2022

Your generosity has been so tremendous since opening the doors again in 2022, that we are packed to the rafters. We will be temporarily pausing item donations so our team can conduct a full stocktake and prepare for the year ahead.

Nifty knitters needed!

Treasure Boxes is pleased to be hosting a Knit a Care Square knitting group in our Edwardstown volunteer hub, allowing people to come together to create social connections whilst knitting blankets that will be distributed by Treasure Boxes to vulnerable SA babies, kids and teens.

Treasure Boxes response for South Australia’s Afghanistan arrivals

Treasure Boxes is humbled to have been able to support the process of ensuring our newest South Australian arrivals from Afghanistan have received childcare and toiletry essentials. This has been a huge, coordinated effort from the South Australian community – specifically AMES, The Welcoming Centre and our local Afghanistan community members. As well as packing additional boxes this week, we’re now preparing for when these families leave medi-hotels and on to their new lives in Australia.

Boots for Borroloola

Earlier this year Treasure Boxes was contacted by a member of the Borroloola community.

We set out to provide these kids with a pair of soccer boots they could call their own, so they can not only play with the comfort of fitting shoes, but also feel a sense of pride and self-worth.
